THUNDER BAY -- A plan for a new subdivision in Neebing ward and a ban on door-to-door sales.

DiGregorio Developments wants to turn a 9.8 hectare lot of land north of Rosslyn Road, off Murphy Avenue, into a subdivision. It would have 26-single detached homes, and two new streets.

Meanwhile, Coun. Andrew Foulds and Coun. Joe Virdiramo have attached their names to a motion calling on the province to ban door-to-door sales of home services.

This includes anyone coming to sell or lease H-VAC equipment, water heaters, or water filtration systems.

The motion accuses sales people in these sectors as being aggressive and misleading. The councillors presenting the motion want the province to ban them using existing consumer protection laws.
