THUNDER BAY – The body of a deceased male has been recovered from the McIntyre River.
Reports of a body in the river came in just before 10 a.m.
Paramedics with the Superior North EMS and firefighters with Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to an area near Carrick and Waterford Streets.
A dive team with Thunder Bay Fire Rescue were able to retrieve the body from the water.
Detectives with the Thunder Bay Police Service are now at the scene and are investigating.
Investigating officers are not releasing the man's identity at this time.
A post-mortem investigation has been scheduled.
