Local architect looking at waterfront possibilities

THUNDER BAY - A Thunder Bay architect is getting ready to close her local office, to pursue other opportunities. But before she does, she hosted an event called “Exhibit of a Future Waterfront” to open some eyes to the possibilities that are available.

Natasha Kuperman is the president of Without Walls. She held an open house at her office in the Whalen building this past week to present her drawings of what could be for a former brownfield property at the north end of Marina Park.  She says the site that once was the home to heavy industrial activity has the opportunity to be so much more.

Kuperman has spent the past few years working on a concept that would see the city providing incentives for people to develop these kinds of brownfield properties.  But so far, there has been little movement on that proposal.
