Impaired driver charged after Highway crash: OPP

(KENORA, ON) Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a female for Impaired Driving. 

On Saturday, August 27, 2016 at approximately 3:00 p.m., police received a complaint of a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 east of Kenora, Jackman Township.

Police arrived and upon speaking to the driver, determined she had been consuming alcohol. She was the lone occupant and did not sustain any injuries.

She was arrested at the scene and transported to the Kenora detachment for further tests.

As a result of the investigation, a 51-year-old Kenora woman has been charged with Impaired Driving contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC) and Driving with More than 80 mg of Alcohol in Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b)CC.

She is to appear in Kenora Court on September 21, 2016 to answer to the charges.
