As one federal Liberal nomination race heats up, another one comes to a sudden end.

Former Thunder Bay Mayor and two-term Liberal MP Ken Boshcoff was acclaimed  Tuesday as the Liberal candidate for the Thunder Bay-Rainy River riding.

Boshcoff lost the last federal election to the NDP’s John Rafferty after holding the seat since 2004. He said he enjoyed his time off but is looking forward to rebuilding and refocusing his party and the riding.

Boshcoff is expected to face Rafferty again in the event of an election. The Conservative Party has not yet named a candidate in the riding.

Thunder Bay-Superior North has three Liberals seeking the nomination. Click here to submit a letter to the editor.

Sorry Ken, although I think youre an OK fellow, under the Liberal banner you wont get my vote...Iggy is certifiable, and I'll never forget the proposed carbon tax..on the provincial level, the harmonized tax ripoff ensures Ill never vote liberal for anything again.. Conservatives for me..

Mr Boshcoff's record as the former MP for Thunder Bay Rainy River was less than stellar. Both he and Mr Raffertys resume as representives for the riding is very unimpressived. Can anyone recall either of these two gentlement making any funding announcements or cheque presentation to any mayor any reeve in NWO? In fact both have over the years voted against the funding for (A) The molecular research Lab(14.7 Million Dollars (B)35 Million for the North of Superior Marine Conservation Area (C)1.6 BILLION dollars for the twinning of the TC Highway.75 Million in Stimulus Infrastructure funding in NWO, including 40 MILLION for the city of Thunder Bays Prince Arthur's Landing waterfront development.and these total do not include the multiple millions in Fed-Nor or other Federal Government Ministries funding announcements.

just a little heads up for Gutshot.

The conservatives have always wanted the harmonized tax. The federal conservatives want it, and other provinces will probably do it.

So, according to the conservatives in Ontario, this is only a bad idea because the Lib4erals did it first. Is that really the party you want to support.

As for Boshcoff, I can think of about 109,000 other people I'd rather see than Rafferty representing us.
