LETTER: Turn the meters off at night

To the editor: I was standing out on my porch on Sunday afternoon. Something caught my attention. The streets were quiet and no one was around the downtown area. Yet each and every one of the parking meters was blinking and not making money.

To the editor:

I was standing out on my porch on Sunday afternoon. Something caught my attention. The streets were quiet and no one was around the downtown area. Yet each and every one of the parking meters was blinking and not making money.

I thought to myself what a waste of energy and who is paying for all the meters in this city while they are not being used and not making money? Is there any way of turning off all that power during the night and on weekends? It seems like a total waste to me, and the city says it is going green? I think they should take a look at this waste.
