Summer is officially here for kids in Thunder Bay, as school is out for the year and the city's outdoor pools have opened their doors.

The Art Widnall, Heath Park and Dease pools are now available for swimming, swimming lessons, and a variety of other aquatic activities.

Friday also marked the last day of school for Thunder Bay Catholic School Board students. The city’s public school students have been out since Thursday.

All the city pools are free to the public.

The beach at Chippewa Park is also now open, but the beach at Boulevard Lake is closed due to high bacteria levels at this time.

Sui Generis says:
Correction: Widnall is NOT open. Some sort of malfunction caused them to drain the pool today. No word of when it will be opened.
