THUNDER BAY -- Sustainability is a topic that gets tossed around a lot these days and most people think it's purely based on the environment.

Guest speaker and author Bob Willard is telling people that sustainabilty goes behind the environment, and that it's good for business as well.

Willard gave a presentation Tuesday at Confederation College. His message was simple --  sustainability in business practice is not only good for the environment, it's profitable.

The driving idea behind business sustainability is fueled by social awareness.

Conscious business practices improve the image of the company and it saves money.

When Willard presents these ideas to a business, he speak a language they can understand.

Willard says that there is a social, community, and stakeholder dimension to sustainable business that can outweigh the importance of the environmental aspect.
