The Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation will celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the TBayTel Luncheon of Hope next month.

Since its inception, the Luncheon has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for breast cancer research, education, diagnosis and treatment. Barry Streib is the Director of Corporate relations for the event's sponsor, TBaytel.

He says the utility continues to support this event because 100 per cent of the donations stay in Northwestern Ontario.
This year's event will feature Libby Znaimer, a cancer survivor and prominent Canadian journalist.

Barb Midgley has been involved in the event for 19 years and is a two-time breast cancer survivor. She says it's a great way to bring awareness to the cause and have some fun.
This year's Luncheon of Hope will take place on Friday, Oct. 19, and it's expected to be another sell-out.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by calling the Health Sciences foundation.

I think it is wonderful that people are so willing to help raise money for pharmaceutical companies. I still have to ask how will we ever "cure" cancer when everything we eat, wear, drink and breathe is saturated in toxic chemicals that "kill" bugs, germs, bacteria - including all good bacteria, our clothes are saturated in fire retardant which is toxic and our bedding, towels, cooking supplies and utensils are either coated in chemicals or soaked in them. nothing we eat, drink, wear or use is void of chemicals. Afterall, the chemicals, pesticides and herbisides are used to "Poison" or kill living things.
