THUNDER BAY -- The city has revealed its film lineup for its Movie Nights in the Park Family Series.

The annual event, which features films shown on the big screen free of charge at Prince Arthur’s Landing, begins on Aug. 22 and runs until Sept. 19.

The Family Series screening schedule includes:

  • Back to the Future 3 - Aug. 22
  • Frozen - Aug. 29
  • Antboy (Bay Street Film Festival) - Sept. 5
  • Despicable Me 2 - Sept. 12
  • Maleficent - Sept. 19

All dates are on Fridays and movies are scheduled to begin at about 9 p.m.

The film lineup was created with help of an online survey, which ran through July and managed to collect nearly 800 responses.

“We’d like to thank everyone who took the time to vote for their favourite films and helped us select this year’s lineup,” said Event Supervisory Doug Henry. “it’s wonderful to see such tremendous support for this event.”

In addition to the above-mentioned films, the Movie Nights event will feature a short film by a local filmmaker before each feature.

Alcohol is not permitted at Movie Nights in the Park.
