Anyone looking to get Finn for the July 27 weekend is encouraged to head to the Finnish Canadian Grand Festival in Thunder Bay.

And depending on the turnout, the city could gain an entry into the Guiness Book of World Records.
The 73rd annual Festival has been hosted by a different Canadian community every year, and this year Thunder Bay will be the host city.

There will be entertainment, nightly dances and unique sporting events, such as the wife-carrying contest.

The public is also invited to take part in a Nordic Walk along Boulevard Lake.  And if more than 1,027 people take part, we will break the record for "Most People Nordic Walking Simultaneously."

Finnish Canadian Grand Festival runs July 27 to July 29, with events scheduled at Hammarskjold High School, Hilldale Lutheran Church, Tapiola Sports Park and the Finlandia Hall.
