Body found in McIntyre River

Police continue to hold the scene along the banks of the McIntyre River after a body was found Saturday afternoon.

THUNDER BAY - Police are on the scene along the banks of the McIntyre River after a body was discovered early Saturday afternoon. 

Thunder Bay Police had an area of the south bank of the river taped off and several police units and an ambulance were on the scene. Officers were also seen walking along the banks of the river. 

According to witnesses in the area, a kayaker discovered the body of a man and brought him to shore. Witnesses also said it appeared as though the body had been in the water since at least last night. 

No other information is available at this time. This story will be updated as soon as more information becomes available.
