Update: Police investigate sudden death near waterfront

City Police have completely blocked off a portion of Marina Park Drive

THUNDER BAY - City police are investigating what they're terming a sudden death in the Marina Park area following reports of a body being discovered.

Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a deceased male on the city’s north-side on Sunday afternoon.

Police said that members of the primary response branch, along with Thunder Bay Fire Rescue firefighters, were dispatched to the Marina Park Drive and North Water Street area just after 2 p.m. on Sunday

When first responders arrived at the scene, police said they located the body of a deceased male.

A scene has been established and a police presence remains in the area.

Police said that members of the Major Crimes and Forensic Identification Units are now involved in the ongoing investigation.

Police advise the public to avoid the area, adding no further details are available at this time.
