THUNDER BAY – St. Patrick High School is set to reopen Tuesday, after students were dismissed from class due to a threat against the school on Monday.

The school has been deemed safe to reopen after an investigation by the Thunder Bay Police Service on Monday afternoon, the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board stated in a release.

The school was first placed under a hold-and-secure as a precaution, before students were sent home in the afternoon.

All classes and activities will resume as normal at St. Patrick school on Tuesday. Community use of the school remains cancelled Monday evening, the board noted.

Monday’s threat was the third against the school in recent weeks, including another that prompted an evacuation on Dec. 7.

It’s also one of a larger number made against local Catholic schools in that time. Police made arrests in connection with threats made against St. Ignatius and Pope John Paul schools in late November.
