THUNDER BAY – A pair of Thunder Bay men are facing child pornography charges following separate investigations by Thunder Bay Police.

Police say the first arrest was made after a search warrant was executed on Nov. 29 at a residence in the 1300 block of Mountdale Avenue, where several electronic devices were seized.

Files found on some of the devices were believed to be consistent with child pornography and the accused was arrested and taken into custody on Friday.

Robert Wayne Lysenchuk, 73, was charged with possession of child pornography and accessing child pornography.

The second arrest occurred as the result of an investigation that began on Oct. 8.

TBPS officers determined a local internet user was in possession of files consistent with child pornography and as a result, identified a local suspect and address.

They executed a warrant at a Murray Avenue address on Thursday, and seized several devices, upon which they allegedly found files believed to be consistent with child pornography, along with other intimate images of an adult female.

The accused turned himself into police and was taken into custody on Friday.

Colin Andrew Palmquist, 33, is charged with possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography and imports, distributes, sells or possession for the purpose of distribution or sale of child pornography.

Both men appeared in court on Friday and were released with conditions of future appearance dates.

Anyone with information that could assist police in their investigations is asked to contact Det.-Const. Joel Manherz at 807-684-1200, ext. 4115.

Tips may also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or online at www.p3tips.com.

The charges against the accused have not been tested in court.
