Vehicle fire at north end parkade

Firefighters extinguish blaze Saturday morning

THUNDER BAY - Firefighters responded to a vehicle fire at Thunder Bay's north end parkade early Saturday morning. The fire was seemingly contained to a single vehicle, the front of which suffered heavy damage.

Responders were on the scene around 7:30 a.m., and quickly extinguished the blaze. The cause of the blaze has not been determined, and Thunder Bay Fire Rescue says any further investigation will likely be in the hands of the vehicle's owner.

Block heaters have sometimes been known to cause vehicle fires, often due to faulty cords. But according to Fire Rescue, there could be any number of causes for such an incident.
