THUNDER BAY – Police have identified the man who drowned while camping at Sparkling Lake on Friday.
Officials, in a release issued Monday, said two men were camping and fishing on Breeze Point Island when they observed their boat floating away.
Daniel Hesselberg, 57, from Onalaska, Wisconsin, attempted to retrieve the boat but suffered a medical event while in the water and died at the scene.
This investigation is ongoing.
