Police arrest a second man in Mr. Sub robbery

Police charged a 26-year-old-man in connection to an armed robbery of a fast food restaurant on Saturday.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers say a man robbed the Mr. Sub on Red River Road at knifepoint on Monday. Police say they took the man into custody on Saturday just after 11 a.m.

Police also charged the same man with a second robbery that happened on Friday near May Street South, where police say the man allegedly beat another man in an alleyway and then stole his money.

The 26-year-old-man is expected to appear in court on Sunday.

For serious crimes, especially those involving weapons, I am a big fan of the states 3 strikes rule.

In fact, i'd take it a step farther. On the 3rd strike, you are summarily executed. None of this waiting around for a million appeals, and then putting the person on death row etc. That is even more harm to society, as it wastes billions of dollars each year.

Walk the prisoner outside, and shoot them in the head. Painless, quick, cheap. Plus, THAT IS A REAL DETERRENT, unlike what they call 'jail' but which has TV's, free education etc. Its so nice people commit crimes just to get back in.

Just my 2 cents. 3 strikes with major heinous crimes, you are out, and it would only cast 25 cents per person.
