Conservative party sources say Prime Minister Stephen Harper will pay Thunder Bay a visit next Friday.

Though not officially confirmed, a source close to the party told tbnewswatch.com that Harper is expected to be the guest of honour at a Conservative rally that aims to build excitement about the party in Thunder Bay and increase their prospects for electing members in Thunder Bay-Rainy River and Thunder Bay-Atikokan.

The source said the event will not be a fundraiser.

Party members and other city residents will be invited to pre-register to attend the event, which will be held at a the Victoria Inn. Click here to submit a letter to the editor.

This guy is the biggest clod to run Canada since I can think of. He's a puppet of the U.S.,& needs to be voted out!
I'm gonna have a few beers, find my way to Harper...and whip a persian at his head, full bore! Who's chippin' in for my bail? (LOL...this is in no way a threat, ya goofs!)

It better not be a fundraiser! Tsarper's had his hands in my pockets with his taxin' this and taxin' that, along with his LIEberal buddy, DALTON! He's probably coming to get some taxation tips from Her Worship!

To imchino:

You're dead wrong about Harper being a puppet of the United States. Harper is an idiot in his own right. The problem is that all the other federal leaders are even bigger buffoons than he is.

What we need is a true fiscal conservative who will minimize taxes and not run gigantic deficits. A deficit is never the result of not enough revenue but it is always the result of too much spending.

although he's far from perfect or my ideal PM, hes a whole lot better than the liberals we've had. (or anything they or the NDP have to offer currently)

Id like to shake his hand, and say thanks for bringing Canada back towards where we need to be.

Please keep us updated on how we can register for this event.

Thank you PM for your financial support not only for Thunder Bay but NWO in general. Some 2 BILLION DOLLARS PLUS to date and unprecedented amount of federal funding after decades of neglect and being taken for granted by a string of Liberal Governments under Trudeau Chretien and Martin and numerous cabinet members and Government caucus members representing both Thunder Bay Riding's and the Kenora riding. The good and smart people of the Kenora riding got the message and are receiving the dividends of their choice of MP thanks to the election of Greg Rickford as their Conservative Government caucus member. Hopefully both ThuNder Bay ridings will get that same message in the next federal. election.

Harper is progress.... why is Canada the most prosperous country coming out of this recession - I really don't think it is because of any measures by the NDP or Liberals.

Not liking Harper but the Conservative party in general defines Thunder Bay's factory town mentality that never prospers and makes it the brunt of jokes in Southern Ontario and I'm sure other parts of Canada....

Again must we remind some that we have been and some may claim still are in A GLOBAL RECESSION.The G7 or is it 8 and most of the G20 agreed amongst themselves that they would in order to minimize the effects of the recession on their individual economies to implement infrastructure and stimulus spending and yes GO INTO DEFICIT IF NECESSARY to do just that. In Canada's case it worked. We as a country fared better than most in minimizing the effects of the GLOBAL RECESSION on our economy. Our deficit to GNP is one of the low est of all the Industrialized countries. The Government has indicated that the stimulus spending will end as of March 2011 and that they will be taking the necessary steps to reduce the existing deficit in the years to coe .All in all our government has not done a bad job at all in steering this country through a MAJOR GLOBAL RECESSION. In comparison to our neighbors to the South, Canada has done reasonably well in reducing the effect of the recession on our economy. PS it will be noted that NWO including Thunder Bay received some 2 BILLION DOLLARS of that infrastructure and stimulus funding which has made a huge difference in easing the effects of the recession locally noting our 6% percent unemployment rate is one of the lowest in the COUNTRY! and well below the national average.

I don't like Harper, his arrogance is his only strength and he'e a bully. That said, this minority government seems to be working for us and the four parties need to collaborate together to survice. I'd hate to see any majority government right now be it liberal or conservative.
Imchino, you're wrong about Harber being an American puppet and a clod. He's an Albertan Oil Patch puppet and a clod. Just like his buddy G.W. Bush was for American Big Oil.

Mr Harper and the Conservatives have done more for Northern Ontario than any other party in recent times. Development and industry abounds here thanks to them. Just because we don't see a pretty boy ad jockey standing up and saying "I gave them millions, ya Me and Dalton gave them all of the Money." doesn't mean they don't deserve credit for their quiet unhearlded actions.I would be proud to shake Mr Harper's hand and say Thank You for allowing the province to be able to spend money on the people. If it wasn't for the Conservatives Great Fiscal policies the province wouldn't have the funding for some of the programs that they do. Hats off to Stephen Harper.

The greatest accomplishment that both the Liberals and Conservatives have done in the 30 years I've been voting, has been to increase the number of poor as well as lower the standard of living for Middle class workers. Like tennis, the ball should be heading back the the Liberal court.

They're coming to make an announcement on the HST!

They teamed up to impose it on everyone, now that people have their hydro bills they've realized their mistake, and they're offering a chance to scrap the HST. BC is rolling back the tax in a referendum next year, so as soon as they did that, Ontario residents have to vote on it too.

Keep the HST tax or not - you decide. Thanks, Stephen Harper and Dalton McGuinty.
