Two children are dead and one is being treated for injuries following a house fire in Summer Beaver, Ont.
Officials with the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service say they responded to the residential fire on Thursday in the community of Nibinamik First Nation, which is located about 500 kilometres northwest of Thunder Bay. The two children killed as a result of the blaze were reported to be younger than five years old.
The conditions of the other occupants of the house are unknown at this time.
NAPS officers continue to investigate the fire with the assistance of the OPP and Ontario Fire Marshall’s office.
Police say more information will be released once it becomes available.
