OPP snag Oxycodone en route to Thunder Bay

Police say they were able to intercept three people delivering a shipment of Oxycodone to Thunder Bay Monday.

Officials with the OPP say that officers from the Drug Enforcement united, assisted by officers form the Thunder Bay and Atikokan detachments of the OPP, intercepted two women and one man on Highway 102 east of Mapleward Road.

Police say the three suspects were transporting Oxycodone from Atikokan to Thunder Bay.

Police officers seized 404 five milligram Oxycodone pills. They also seized 68 Oxycodone pills that were believed to be 40 milligrams each.

Police also seized 47 Ritalin pills and $2,200 in cash.

A 2003 GMC Sierra pick-up truck, valued at $11,000, was also taken by police following the bust.

Police say they believe the potential street value of the drugs found is about $6,000.

Dennis Lacosse, 55, of Atikokan, has been charged with trafficking Oxycodone.

Patricia Lacosse, 55, of Atikokan, has been charged with trafficking Oxycodone.

Julliete Pelletier-Landry, 42, of Thunder Bay has been charged with possession of Oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking and possession of Ritalin for the purpose of trafficking.

All three suspects are expected to appear in a Thunder Bay courtroom on March 14.

The charges against the three suspects have not been proven in court.
