Police have found the rightful owner of an urn that was missing since at least July, 2011.

Officials with the Thunder Bay Police Service announced Thursday morning that they were looking for the owner of some cremated remains they had found.

The investigation came up with nothing for police, so on Thursday the force asked the public to contact them with any information they may have about the urn and its remains.

Police had found the urn at Dutchak’s storage.

why doesn't the police announce this when it happens rather than like so many months after??

No kidding, Weed! The earlier version of this story noted that investigators have been trying for many months. They finally post it here and it took 2 hours to solve. Clap. Clap. Clap.

Why the damn negative comments from you clowns? Those ashes were the last physical existence of someone who was loved and cared for. They are a memory that the people will live with for the rest of their lives. Give your head a good shake before you make anymore comments on news items. You have no damn clue what it means to the people that have had the ashes returned to them.

Pardon? Your comment is so puzzling. Of course it is important that the person recovers their loved one's remains. You just made our point. We made no disrespect to the remains, obviously. Our point was that they could have figured this out extremely easily many months ago without wasting any resources or cost or time by doing the obvious, and could have returned these remains long ago. Settle down and think...

Still, how do you 'lose' your wife's ashes?? If I did that, those ashes would come back to life and choke the living hell outta me!
