Greenstone OPP closed a portion of Highway 11 near Longlac after a nine-year-old-girl fell off the back of a U-Haul trailer.

OPP officers say a vehicle with a U-Haul trailer attached pulled up to a gas station and convenience store near Camp 25 Road after 6 p.m. on Friday.  Police say as the vehicle pulled out to leave two young girls were hanging onto the back of the trailer.

One of the girls jumped off before the vehicle went onto the highway but the nine-year-old was still on. Police say the girl broke her leg and had to close that section of the highway.

Police re-opened the road to single lane traffic a few hours later and has sinced opened the road to all traffic.
