Cochenour resident charged with break and enter, sexual assault

Police in Red Lake have charged a man with break and enter, and sexual assault following an incident in that area.

Officials with the Red lake detachment of the OPP say officers responded to a report of an unwanted man at a Cochenour home on May 5.

An investigation revealed that the 50-year-old woman victim and the man were known to one another.

As a result of the report and the investigation that followed, police laid a number of charges against a 25-year-old Cochenour resident.

The charges include: Break and enter, forcible confinement and sexual assault causing bodily harm.

The accused has been remanded into custody and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on June 14.
