Police have arrested and charged a youth following two motor vehicle crashes Monday evening.

Officials with the Thunder Bay Police Service say officers responded to two motor vehicle collisions shortly after 9 p.m.

The first collision took place in the parking lot of Wendy’s on Red River Road. The accused male driver, who is described by police only as a male youth, allegedly fled the scene and was involved in a head-on collision at the corner of Junot Avenue and Walkover Street.

The female driver of the other vehicle involved in that crash was taken to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre where she was treated for minor injuries.

The female passenger of the accused was also taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Traffic officers with the city police department have charged the young man with failing to stop, two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm, and two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm.

The youth is being held and is expected to make a court appearance Tuesday.

TBDR says:
Why didn't the mayor and police use their magic jesus powers to prevent this kid from committing a criminal offence? You know, like in Toronto or Winnipeg, where random crime doesn't happen.

You can even find a way to be the mayor's head cheerleader in articles that have nothing to do with him.

If you don't like the mayor or the city police force why don't you move? There is going to be a mayor and a police force forever, suck it up and get use to it. They caught the idiot is all that matters.

@ TBDR I dont know where your getting your information but "random crime" as you put it happens A LOT more in both Winnipeg and Toronto then it is here, face the facts no one can control how stupid someone can be, its up the the parents of that person and the bars not to over serve, its up to the police to watch and catch these people before things like this happen.

chill out TBDR! you seem to be displacing your bitterness towards non-supporters of Hobbs with your preemptive strikes against the 'whining brigade'.

Seems like the "don't drink & drive" message is not getting through to some of today's youth. I guess if the message was on facebook or in the form of a text it would get through to some of these numbskulls?

Very sad , he could have really hurt or killed someone.
Now if he is ever allowed to drive again I doubt that he would be able to afford the rates with that record following him.
