A number of roads around the city are scheduled to get a significant construction overhaul this season.

City of Thunder Bay project engineer Rick Harms says a strip of Algoma between Bay and John streets will be down to one lane for most of the season.

Harms adds that the area around the new court house is seeing some work.

“That’s going to include some underground servicing, curb work and sidewalk,” he said during an interview with CKPR Radio.

Some streets in that area will also be repaved during this time. Those roads include:
• Brodie Street
• Miles Street
• Archibald Street
• Justice Avenue

Water main and sewer replacement has also begun on Walsh Street from Beaverhall Place to Neebing Avenue.

How about Edward street? When is that going to take some precedence? It is horrible to drive on....

It would be nice if the city had dates on its construction map of est. time of construction start and completion. Give drivers and business an idea of how long to expect delay's.

Yeah, but then they would actually have to know what is going on out there. Tough to do when the only time you come out from your office is to give a report to the TV News.

uh oh... wait for the complaining... probably from the same people who whine about our infrastructure the other 8 months of the year.

And those complaints would probably go something like this...."Fix all the streets in Thunder Bay, they're horrible to drive on! But don't let construction interfere with my commute or I'll be pissed!"

"Spend money to fix the streets!!!"
*city spends money on road repair*
"NOO!!! Spent the money to fix THE OTHER STREETS!!"

The moral: Beggars can't be choosers, so beg specifically.

TBDR, same old recycled post cut and pasted to each new story. Just because you have resoted to "taking it like a man" and maintaining the status quo, does not mean everybody else should. Healthy debate is great!

I wouldn't describe very much of what is written here as "healthy debate".

I really love how the City does detours. Basically, one sign pointing away from the construction, the rest is up to the driver to figure out. Not a big deal if you live here and know the roads but lots of fun for those who don't.

You need someone to hold your hand and show you the way?

What part of jubjub post that states "Not a big deal if you live here, but lots of fun for those who don't" did you miss?

Did you even read his full post? He makes a good comment, and you have to cut on it because you only read what you wanted to read.

Where is Justice Avenue?

Justice Avenue leads into a dead end cul de sac called Probation Place...once there just keep going around the circle :)

I'm guessing that Justice Ave will lead into the new courthouse.
