MNR confirms five new fires in Northwest region

Ministry of Natural Resources officials are reporting that five new fires were confirmed Tuesday in the Northwest region.
Two of the new fires are burning in the Nipigon district.
None of the fires are posing any serious concerns, although one in the Fort Frances district is said to be about two kilometres south of White Otter Castle.
MNR officials say the hazard continues to range from high to extreme in this region, and personnel remain on high alert in the Northwest.
