Sunnyside beach swimming advisory lifted

The swimming advisory for Sunnyside beach has been lifted.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit announced Thursday afternoon that it had officially lifted the swimming advisory for the Boulevard Lake beach.

The Health Unit is also reminding residents that public health inspectors will be testing the beaches around the district until the end of August.

The main problem is the water supply , the area upstream has too many homes now with improper septic sytems. This means a few systems can contaminate the whole system downstream and we will have a difficult time to track down the source especially if there are multiple systems doing it. Time to look outside the obvious and think about the big picture.
