Stabbing, boat collision keep Kenora OPP busy

Police in Kenora were kept busy overnight on Sunday.
At midnight OPP responded to a reported stabbing and arrived in the area of Tenth Street in Keewatin to find a 22-year-old Kenora man suffering stab wounds after an altercation. The victim was taken to hospital in Winnipeg and treated for non life-threatening injuries.
Eighteen-year-old Zachary Perreault of Kenora was charged with aggravated assault.
A little later, two women in their 20s and the boat’s male operator were taken to hospital in Winnipeg after a 4 a.m. boat collision on Lake of the Woods that resulted in one boat sinking.
Twenty-five-year-old Sean Goold of Kenora, faces two counts of impaired operation causing bodily harm.
The investigation continues.
Earlier that evening another boater was charged with failing to provide a sample, after OPP officers checked a vessel in the area of Safety Bay on Lake of the Woods.
The boat’s 32-year-old operator allegedly refused to provide a breath sample and is expected to answer the charge on Sept. 13 in Kenora court.
