Driver involved in crash with pedestrian charged

Charges have now been laid in connection with a weekend car-pedestrian collision. 

The incident took place Sunday morning on Blindline Road, when a female jogger was struck from behind by a woman driving a Jeep. 

Police say the 57-year-old driver of the vehicle has been charged with careless driving. 

The 47-year-old victim remains in hospital in serious condition.

I would just like to express my sympathy towards all the parties involved, including the driver who must certainly be distraught. My thoughts and prayers are with the injured woman and her family as well.

It was recently found out that I actually knew the jogger, and her daughter. I hope she gets better physically and psychologically as well..I'm sure once she wakes up there will be a ton of emotions to deal with..Also as mentioned above, I would like to express my sympathy to the other party as well. I can only imagine how tough it must be to accidentally hit someone and then get charged on top of it.
