One woman is in the hospital and another two women are expected to appear in bail court after an alleged Thursday night assault.

Officers with the Thunder Bay Police Service responded to South May Street shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday. There officers found a 29-year-old woman with a fractured nose, cuts and bruises.

Police say the victim was sent to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre where she received medical attention.

Shortly after that, police officers arrested a 20-year-old and a 26-year-old woman. Both women are suspected to have a connection to the assault.

The two suspects are expected to make a court appearance Friday morning.

I realize you're trying to be funny but how is a court house supposed to deter crime?

Give it up. Crime is here to stay the same way it is going to stay in every other town and city in the world. Oh I forgot....some people in Thunder Bay just like to complain for the sake of complaining.

crime a way? says:
...with the opening of the new courthouse, many are expecting the "riff-raff" to just move either closer to the intercity area or even towards westfort.

Either way, they will be moving.

They may possibly even overtake the peeps bunkered down behind Lakehead Motors in them bushes, who knows??

Should be an intresting change either way...

Twisted- how is this a police thing? How can they be everywhere all the time to make sure a fight doesn't happen? Maybe you should point a finger at the justice system that clearly failed earlier by letting one of these people be free in the first place.

If our city police were not so obsessed with giving tickets to kids on bikes or having 8 police officers for one speed trap maybe they could actually get some real work done.

Why are some news involving police or crime blocked from comments?

You do hear about crime like this still in the big cities. I live out in calgary and just recently there was a stabbing downtown. It doesn't get pushed under the covers by any means.
