More Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Medals recipients named

Several more area residents are being honoured with Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Medals. 

The names of the most recent recipients were announced on Friday by Thunder Bay-Atikokan MPP Bill Mauro. 

They include Kay Geravelis, Sandra Guthrie, Larry Joy Sr., Joleene Kemp, Deborah Kraft, Pauline Krupa, Jack Remus, Fay Steadwell and Lawrence Timko. 

The medals are being awarded to those who have made significant contributions to Thunder Bay, Ontario and Canada.

What about bringing the volunteers to light?

Why must storeowners or Dr's always get the awards?

Without volunteers, these people would be nothing!

There's a council member, a pastor, two educators, among those named; certainly not all business owners nor doctors; regardless, the award criteria is not based on one's occupation or profession...it's based on volunteerism; so, thank to all the recipients regardless of your occupation;
