Police in Thunder Bay have two people in custody after alleged assault against a 15- and 16-year-old girl.

Investigators were called to a bushy area behind Wentworth Crescent on Tuesday night just before 11 p.m., and have cordoned off the area as evidence is collected.

In a release police say further investigation has led to the arrest of a 36-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, as well as the second victim.

Both the victims and the 36-year-old accused were sent to hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

Charges are pending and expected to be made public later today. Police have not named either of the two suspects at this point in time.
