Thunder Bay Police say they have a woman in custody in connection with an armed robbery at a Kakabeka Falls gas station.

Police allege a 21-year-old woman entered the Shell station on Highway 11/17 on Monday night at about 5:30 p.m., armed with a syringe.

The suspect was wearing a mask and demanded both cash and lottery tickets.

Staff refused to co-operate, so the woman left the store and got into a vehicle driven by the co-accused in the case.

Police arrested the woman and a 39-year-old Thunder Bay man later that night at a Can-Op gas bar on Oliver Road.

The pair, who police have not named, will be in court on Tuesday facing charges of armed robbery.

The investigation continues.

So all in all just allegations which means what? The attendant at the gas bar didn't see a syringe police didn't respond quick enough the thief's disposed of syringe ? No video? Not much to report either! Lets hope they make a case so some proper justice can be laid out? Whats wrong with publishing the perps names?

Lottery Tickets? hahahaha.... best idea there.

Next thing you know they'd win big and try to validate it at another store or the casino.

There is no gain in trying to steal tickets as they can be easily deactivated and/or traced (upon scanning the barcode(s)).

The irony in winning on a stolen scratch ticket... oh boi.

First time in a while I've heard of Shell having an (attempted) robbery. Bored of Mac's..

Good job to the staff for not giving them what they want. Bullies are just that. But, I'm not advocating standing up to people with weapons; you don't know their mental state or anything they are capable of.

The Macs robberies seem to have slowed down significantly so their preventative measures must be working.

A firearm is another story; but if these stores had baseball bats behind the counter, I think these syringe baring psycho-lunatics would think twice.
