NIPIGON, Ont. -- There has been a new development in the hunt for a suspect in a stolen vehicle case.

A widespread search was initiated near Nipigon last Thursday, after OPP officers tried to stop a vehicle on Highway 17. The abandoned vehicle was later located in the Nipigon Bay Road area and it was determined the car had been stolen in Alberta.

Now police say they were alerted Monday to a camp break-in in the same area.

Descriptions of the culprit match those of the man driving the stolen vehicle.

A new search has been launched and police are requesting motorists on Highway 17, between Nipigon and Schreiber, report any pedestrians or suspicious activity.
