DRYDEN, Ont. -- A water operations financial plan shows Dryden is not setting aside enough money for the future replacement of equipment and other assets.

Dryden is contributing $375,000 toward capital replacement in the water budget compared with the recommended level of more than $1 million.

Public works director Mike Louttit says the situation isn't dire right now, but he notes a massive failure in the future could pose problems.

The plan recommends a six per cent water rate fee increase annually for the next six years, but Louttit says they are looking at other options.

WOW, They just recently have gotten to the stage of water meters being installed in homes and now they are going to have this type of increase? Talk about leaving a bad taste in their mouths and it aint the water doing it.
