THUNDER BAY -- With the weather turning colder, the clock on city roadwork is ticking.
Neebing Avenue, Market Street, Algoma Street and Miles Street are the last of the large projects still to be completed and Rick Harms, project engineer for the City of Thunder Bay said it will be a few weeks yet until they are completed.
“A couple of those projects were schedule for completion by the end of October, but along the way some extensions were requested,” he said.
Those roadwork projects should be completed within the first two weeks of November.
The Neebing Avenue work was supposed to be a three-week project, but Harms said they discovered the road also needed water main work done.
They couldn’t move forward with the project until they got the proper approvals from council.
Final grading and paving should be done before the end of the week. The paving of the shoulders of the road will be done next spring
