Suspicious death

By tbnewswatch.com

THUNDER BAY -- Police confirmed Thursday they are investigating a suspicious death.

The body of a 52-year-old man was discovered in a Belton Street home Thursday morning around 10 a.m. by emergency responders.

Police were not able to release and further details, and said more details were not likely to be made public Thursday. However neighbours told Dougall Media the deceased was arrested as part of a major drug sweep a couple of years ago, disappeared for awhile, presumably while in police custody, then returned to the home.

The same neighbours also said there was always traffic coming to and from the house at all hours of the day and night. They said the victim also owned the neighbouring auto salvage yard.

The investigation is said to be in the preliminary stages.
