A trampled traffic light has left motorists temporarily taking the long route onto Memorial Avenue.

A pipe-laden semi-trailer truck cut the corner at the John Street intersection too tightly on Tuesday afternoon, ripping a traffic light from its cement foundation and closing the southbound lane of the busy thoroughfare.

Police remain on scene investigating the incident.

Drivers are cautioned to find an alternative route until the debris is cleared up and the truck is able to move on.
No one was hurt in the collision.
