THUNDER BAY -- A two-vehicle collision Thursday morning at the intersection of High Street and Oliver Road sent one person to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers were at the scene of the crash just before 9 a.m. Thursday.

Police were investigating the two-vehicle crash involving a van that appeared to have hit a car.

Police officers at the scene said one person was taken to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with unknown injuries.

Police were directing traffic during the morning rush hour, but despite their best efforts the number of vehicles lined up snaked all the way up High Street towards the entrance of Hillcrest Park.

The investigation is still ongoing.
