THUNDER BAY -- Officials with the District Health Unit are continuing their investigation of what's suspected to be a food-borne illness that's left several people across the city ill.

The investigation was launched following reports of large numbers of people displaying a variety of symptoms following some catered events last week.

The symptoms include nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, which is something Health Unit officials say is typical of a Norwalk-like illness.
Symptoms usually persist for 24-to-48 hours.

Officials say people are especially susceptible at this time of year given the number of large gatherings that offer food to guests.

They're advising people who displays the symptoms noted, contact the Health Unit.
