Holiday Events at Prince Arthur’s Landing

December 20, 2012 – The City of Thunder Bay is encouraging residents to come down to the waterfront and enjoy the many activities and facilities available to the public.

Over the Holidays, operating hours for the skating rink, change rooms and concession will be as follows:

· Dec. 24 - open until 5 pm
· Dec. 25 – CLOSED
· Dec. 26 to 31 - regular hours 11:30 am - 9 pm
· Jan. 1 - 11:30 am– 5 pm
· Jan. 2 - regular hours

The Baggage Building Arts Centre will play host to ‘A Spark in the Park: A Celebration of Light and Community’ on Friday, Dec. 21 from 5 pm to 10 pm. This free event features a night of music, hot chocolate, skating, lantern making and the first annual Lantern Parade.

The Baggage Building Arts Centre will be also holding free art workshops for kids on Jan, 2 – 4, from 1 pm – 4 pm, with artists John Mackett and Tessa Charlebois.

The Water Garden Pavilion is hosting ‘Deck the Mariner's Hall display’ until Dec. 26. The public can view Christmas trees on display from Waterfront District BIA Members.

Families can also participate in ‘Winter Fun-days’, beginning Jan. 6, and try a new family friendly outdoor activity from 2 - 4 pm at the Green Lawn area beside the Skating Rink.
