Separate school board ratifies labour agreement

THUNDER BAY -- The Catholic School Board is looking at labour peace. The Board has announced its reached an agreement on a new two-year contract with both its elementary and secondary teachers.

The Board has announced its reached an agreement on a new two-year contract with both its elementary and secondary teachers.

Trustees signed off on the agreement at a special meeting Wednesday, while the teachers ratified the deal Thursday.

Meanwhile, Ontario's Elementary Teachers Federation has made a new offer to the province.

It says if the education minister agrees to not impose any new contracts on them prior to the election of a new Premier, it will cease all rotating strikes .
