THUNDER BAY -- The OPP are investigating allegations made against the city police force by a 19-year-old man.

In a news release issued by the Thunder Bay Police Service Thursday afternoon, the city’s police chief J.P. Levesque is said to have requested the OPP’s criminal investigation branch investigate the allegation.

It is alleged that a city police officer transported a 19-year-old man to a location outside of the city limits. There, the man says he was dropped off and left to walk to his home in Thunder Bay.

This incident is said to have taken place on Dec. 2.

The Thunder Bay Police Service, in its media release, states that city police officials will be unable to comment on the incident since the investigation is ongoing.
