OPP in Fort Frances are investigating a potentially dangerous incident that took place at a Wednesday Idle No More protest in that community.
A group of demonstrators held a Unity Dance in the middle of one of the town's busier intersections Wednesday afternoon. A video posted on YouTube shows the driver of a red pick-up truck attempting to drive around the protesters.
The vehicle makes contact with one person several times before moving through the intersection.
Story continues after video ...
The protesters lock arms to try to stop the vehicle from advancing, but the driver eventually manages to get through the crowd and drive away.
OPP Acting Sgt. Anne McCoy says when the incident occurred, their officers were keeping their distance about a block away, and were on the scene almost immediately.
McCoy says they have been made aware of two videos and several photos to aid in their investigation. But so far, no charges have been laid.
