A Shuniah Fire Department official says no one was hurt in a structural blaze that consumed an Alder Road residence.
Fire officials responded to the call on a snowy Friday morning.

Few other details are available at this time, though firefighters remain on scene battling the fire, smoke pouring from the one-storey structure.

Hope they had insurance. Even if they do their policy will be cancelled as soon as their insurance agent sees the pic of how close their wood pile is to the house. Most companies require that wood be stored a min of 100ft away from the house. As well, insurance companies also require that a WETT certified (stands for Wood Energy Technolgy Techniian I think)person cleans your chimney and furnace on a regular basis. Hardly anyone does this as it usually costs about $200 to have them come out and do a job you can easily do yourself in well under an hour. However the insurance companies know this and use it to their advantage to deny claims and leave people with nothing!
