Police say the bus driver had stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Peter and Van Norman streets when he was rear-ended by a silver Honda Prelude being driven by a male driver. The driver of the car fled the scene, but police recovered the vehicle a short time later, abandoned in a nearby laneway.
None of the children aboard the bus were hurt in the incident, but police says a spider web crack in the Honda’s windshield indicates the suspect may have been injured in the collision.
The driver no longer resides at the address on file with Ministry of Transportation, and police are asking anyone with information on the suspect or his female occupant to contact the authorities.
