OPP respond to train derailment at mill property in Fort Frances

OPP officers are at the scene of a train derailment at the Resolute Forest Product mill property in Fort Frances.
Officials with the Rainy River Detachment of the OPP say officers responded to reports of the derailment shortly after 1 p.m. Friday. No injuries have been reported as a result of this incident.
Police say a single rail car containing hydrogen peroxide tipped over, causing the chemical to leak.
Fort Frances Fire and Rescue Service has responded and is suppressing vapours and monitoring the spill area.
Meanwhile, the OPP has set up a perimeter around the affected area of Central Avenue between Scott Street and Second Street in Fort Frances. Police are asking the public to stay clear from this perimeter.
The Ministry of the Environment has also been notified.
