Despite the frigid temperatures, a group of people gathered outside the OLG Casino to stand up for workers rights.

The protesters are calling for changes to the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board.

The Casino was chosen as the picket location because the protestors claim that staff at the facility are prone to repetitive strain injuries. Protest organizer Steve Mantis says Ontario Lottery and Gaming has not taken steps to make that workplace safer.

Officials with OLG say they can't speak to any specific claims made by the group.  But they did say the Thunder Bay Casino takes the health and safety of its employees very seriously.

And they point out the facility has eight different training programs in place for injury prevention by their staff, along with numerous awareness campaigns.
