The Salvation Army’s annual Kettle Campaign is still off target.

The campaign still has a way to go before reaching its $170,000 goal, and is about $13,000 behind where it was at this same point last year.

Salvation Army Maj. Rob Kerr says this weekend will be an important one as its the final push before Christmas Eve. Despite that looming deadline, Kerr remains optimistic.

“We are a bit behind, but we still think we can reach our goal,” he said during an interview with CKPR Radio Thursday. “We are at $118,000 on our way to the goal of $170,000 so we still have a bit of a ways to go.”

He added that this final week has traditionally when the community has donated more aggressively.
